Gabriel Decoute is a dedicated dental hygienist at Babylon Dental Care who brings energy, compassion, and a relationship-driven approach to every patient visit. He believes that exceptional hygiene care starts with trust, education, and making patients feel genuinely comfortable in the chair.
Gabriel completed his dental hygiene education at the Fones School of Dental Hygiene in Connecticut, the first dental hygiene school in the United States, where he served as Class President and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He has hands-on experience with laser therapy and is passionate about its ability to improve periodontal outcomes. He is currently interested in pursuing laser certification in New York to further expand his clinical skill set.
In addition to his clinical background, Gabriel is especially proud of his Invisalign continuing education training, which strengthened his understanding of tooth movement, attachments, and treatment planning. He enjoys helping patients understand why certain recommendations are made and how those details contribute to successful outcomes.
Gabriel’s path to dentistry is unique. After working in the TV and film industry for several years, he used the opportunity during the COVID slowdown to reassess his career goals. Seeking long-term stability, growth, and fulfillment, he committed fully to hygiene school—and discovered a profession he truly loves.
His approach to patient care is warm, engaging, and personal. Gabriel treats every patient like a close friend, taking time to listen, ease anxiety, and tailor each appointment to individual comfort needs. He is especially passionate about periodontal therapy, patient education, and using advanced tools like the iTero scanner to visually show patients areas for improvement and progress over time.
Originally born in Queens and raised on Long Island, Gabriel has also spent time living in Puerto Rico, where he strengthened his Spanish skills. He is proud of his Puerto Rican and Guatemalan heritage and enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of the office, Gabriel enjoys staying active at the gym, hosting board game and video game nights with friends, watching movies—especially sci-fi and horror—and visiting theme parks like Universal Studios. He describes himself as a social butterfly who thrives on connection.
Gabriel is excited to be part of Babylon Dental Care because of the practice’s commitment to elevated care, advanced technology, and treating every patient with the quality and respect they deserve.
