Michelle Sands
Sleep Director, RDH
Michelle began her journey with BDC in 2011. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, practicing chair side for over 25 years, Michelle has taken on many roles including: hygiene team lead, hygiene team trainer, and clinical director. Michelle now takes the position of Sleep Apnea Director. At 17, with no knowledge of dentistry, she responded to an ad in the newspaper to work at a dental office, from there she gained a strong interest in the field and later on joined the BDC family. Here she found a team that is not only supportive professionally but personally as well – one that exemplifies the true meaning of teamwork. Now as Sleep Apnea Director, Michelle has found even more joy in treating her patients than she could have ever imagined. When sleep apnea patients come in, they are reluctant, exhausted, with little hope for a solution. When Michelle begins their treatment, and the patient begins to realize that there IS help, she can see the huge transformation in them. Michelle’s patients go from a life-threatening situation to a complete change to their health, wellness, and life as a whole. Being able to do this for her patients is a joy and true honor for Michelle. Michelle wants her patients to know that, here at BDC, we are here to help and listen – not to sell a product, because that is not what we’re about. Michelle understands that everyone has a story and she’s here to listen with kindness, compassion, and empathy. In her free time, Michelle loves spending time with her husband and her boys. She also enjoys traveling and has found that Hawaii is her favorite place to be, her “spirit place.”
